We are invited to a screening of the documentary Jesus Was a Migrant followed by a conversation with its executive director and author, Dr. Jemar Tisby. The documentary follows his visit to the U.S.-Mexico border to examine the theological crisis at the heart of American Christianity. It takes an uncomfortable look at the theology that got us here: How did a religion born among the poor, the foreign-born, and the displaced become the spiritual backbone of a movement that closes its doors to them?
